The “MEDIA Volunteers” Program is implemented by the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Voluntary Activity” and the “Charter of the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan” approved by Decree No. 1249 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated January 12, 2021. The Program has been organized since September 15, 2021, with the aim of efficiently utilizing the potential of young people in the implementation of projects and programs of importance to the state and society in the process of media development, enhancing their knowledge and skills, and supporting their nationwide networking and social integration.

The main mission of the “MEDIA Volunteers” Program is to support the development of media through youth-driven initiatives, ensure the education of young people in this field, and guarantee their active participation in the relevant processes. In addition, the program aims to regularly contribute to the personal and professional development of young people who are knowledgeable, modern, open-minded, patriotic, and rooted in national values.

Within the framework of the “MEDIA Volunteers” Program, which lasts for three months, participating volunteers receive professional development trainings such as “Fundamentals of Journalism,” “Media Literacy,” “Digital Journalism,” “Media Ethics,” and other journalism-related trainings, as well as personal development trainings covering a wide range of topics including “Stress and Time Management,” “Leadership Skills,” “Creative Thinking,” and “Speech Culture.”

In addition, as part of the “MEDIA Volunteers” Program, volunteers complete internships of up to one month at various media organizations
