Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan was established by the Presidential Decree No. 1249 dated January 12, 2021, “On deepening reforms in the field of media in the Republic of Azerbaijan”. The Agency was founded to support the development of media, continue institutional development in this field, and stimulate the application of new information and communication technologies and innovations in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan is a public legal entity operating to support the development of media, train specialists in the media field and organize their further education, stimulate the activities of audiovisual, print, online media entities, and news agencies, as well as journalists and other media representatives, and promote the application of new information and communication technologies and innovations in the media field.
The main areas of activity of the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan include ensuring the development of the field, participating in the formation and implementation of state policy in this field, cooperating with relevant state bodies (institutions), and taking part in the development and implementation of proposals.
